If you ever find yourself needing access to your office computer when your away, you're not alone. Many professionals (especially those that travel often) use remote control software that allows them to link to their computer as if you were sitting right in front of it. GoToMyPC allows you to connect to your PC from any Internet connected computer and also allows you to transfer files as well as print remotely. It is secure, reliable and can pay for itself even if you only use it once or twice a month.
Another solution we recommend by Citrix, is GoToMeeting.com. GoToMeeting is an online presentation and meeting tool that allows you to have meetings with people in separate locations. A presenter creates the meeting and can allow guests to view his/her computer screen for presentation of documents slides, Powerpoint presentations, etc. The meeting also provides conference call phone number for guests to call into for a full featured solution.
Alternatively, a more affordable solution for remote control and remote file transfers is Remote Administrator (Radmin) from Famatech. This solution requires a one time purchase (as opposed to monthly fees) and is a great solution if you have a static IP and do not require remote printing.
